At Dreamforce yesterday (11/7), Salesforce introduced Salesforce Essentials. The offering is powered by the same Salesforce platform as the higher priced editions but comes at a very reasonable cost. It delivers serious functionality for leads, accounts, opportunities and cases. Standard reports and dashboards are included and you can build your own. It receives the same upgrades as the other editions three times a year, at no additional cost.
If and when the business scales or finds it needs automation, custom objects or other more sophisticated features, it will scale with you.
